When I worked in Guildford I was with Scummers (one who became a very good mate unfortunately) and Chelsea.

In London I ended up with a load of Scousers (some real, some plastic and all now very good mates) but we did have some quality nights out watching them in Europe. Shoeless Joe's in Temple (Victor Ubogu's Bar before it became a Walkabout) was their 'lucky' venue.

And now I find myself mainly with Reading and plastic Mancs.

re: Fans of other teams you work/worked with...

Many years ago in Pompey's dark days I worked with a couple of guys, and one was raving Man Utd and the other rabid Arsenal. All day was spent hurling abuse at each other with me as an amused bystander. Pompey were in lower divisions and below their radar, so they insisted I choose a Division 1 side to support and thus defend. Because of the 'blue' I chose Chelsea, this is way before the Russian, so I got Webb, Hollins, Osgood and Hutchinson,(he of the whirling arms at throw ins) and all the rest of that wild bunch.
It all turned out brilliantly and Chelsea went on to beat Leeds Utd in that great replayed FA Cup Final and I had a field day.
Still sort of support Chelsea but it's never been the same since the Russian arrived, ruined it.

Went to Stamford Bridge for the Hutchinson Testimonial Game after he had to quit football. Still have the programme.

I'm situated just out side of Kettering at the moment so most the lads support the Cobblers couple follow the franchise dons, but you get the obvious ****er that supports Man U or Chelsea, the steel fixer is a Preston fan.
I worked in Lincoln for 9 months and the rivalry between Boston was more intense than that of Grimsby.
And when we were building the tesco's in Peterborough, hardly any of the local lads followed them, Liverpool or man u was there choice, glory hunting ****ers.

The proper football fans I socialise with (no work these days.. ) go for Brentford, Luton, Wycombe , Watford, Sunderland , Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and Manure... to be fair, they are all long time fans, not pot hunters (except maybe the Luton fan !!!)... wife and sister in law are Saints fans... tolerance is the number one rule in our house! (Actually they both want Pompey to do well except when they are playing Saints)

One of the lads i work with is a POMPEY FAN and has lived in Southampton for years, with his Southampton supporting wife, and she also wishes Portsmouth well, i find it funny because he supports the blues and has got a full on scum accent.

i'd say our only glory hunter is the Man utd fan "surprise surprise"

Two brother in laws who support Nottingham forest and Arsenal

Many, many teams during my Naval time as you would expect. Happy Memories of an Army WO2 from the Island who was a Scummer. We worked for a couple of months in the Falklands. He bet me a crate of Beer that his lot would win by 4 goals in the Cup at Fratton when Moran got that late winner. Needless to say we drank that crate that night but at least he had to buy it
