Having run one or two in my time, I'm quite a fan - and as I much as I like the look (and performance) of the new R400, I never thought I'd see the day when the price-tag of the humble Golf hit the 50k mark..![]()

As far as the R400's figures were concerned, shifting the decimal point one place to the right would probably see them closer to the BlueMotion's..

Need to replace my Passat later this year, I don't think this is the answer. You wouldn't get the mutt in that boot.
