Founded in 1901, Upton Cricket Club has been at the hub of the local community for the past 114 years.

Really?, if your lot can't add up Deez I bet you win every game.

    re: Haw Deez

I went there once, by accident. It was 1980. Leicester were playing away at West Ham and I stupidly went to the wrong Upton Park.
I ended up on the 495 Birkenhead - Noctorum circular for 4 and an half hours. There was an lot of trouble as I remember - spark plugs were literally flying from disgruntled workers from the Champion factory, and the Fire Brigade from Arrowe Park Road were called and I ended up on an march between Bidston Hill and Thurstaston Hill - several casualities that day, many throughing themselves off of the Dee Cliffs nearby. It's said that some were still finding it hard to come to terms with the Tennis Club folding in 1968.
I missed my bus back and ended up sleeping in a outhouse at the Vicarage on Church Rd and wandering back across an park in the morning, stopping briefly to see Arrowe Park Blades FC 'keeper save a penalty.

Leicester lost 3-1. - view external link

    Arf...

Good research EXCEPT the 495 service didn't exist in 1980, they* only pre-fixed the buses with a 4 in the 90's
