    No contract for Hayes?

It looks like he's on his way. Thanks for your efforts over the years. You been involved in some great moments.
It gives the club the opportunity to bring in a quality target man. Assuming we keep Burton this will give us a more balanced squad with two who can hold the ball up and two out and out goal poachers.

Confirmed today. Now fingers crossed that we sign a real QUALITY target man.

Looks like Godden has been given a contract as a cheap option to make up numbers on the bench in case of injuries and suspensions to the main four. I can see the sense in that although he'll probably spend a fair bit of time out on loan again.

I see some people are saying we should have kept Hayes and released Burton. Certainly one of them had to go to bring in another forward. The point is Burton can actually retain possession even under challenge. Hayes had many qualities but being strong under challenge he was not. Great to watch if you could give him the ball in space with time to turn but sadly too easily dispossessed under the slightest pressure from a big centre back.
