Grant was superb and was a good overall team performance. Was surprised by Russell coming off, at that point I thought Ward should have come off, carrying a yellow and not on top of his game. JR was at the centre of most of our good work in first half.

At times we looked like we had another gear but never quite found it.

I'm not moaning that was the result we wanted and deserved

Totally agree grant was mom. Thought we did a very professional job tonight. I hope we go for the jugular at the ours and kill em off in the first half. There best player was lua lua he looked dangerous when he came on. But really proud of our boys tonight. And our fans behind the goal aswell were amazing...

Well chuffed with the first half and think that Derby looked dangerous throughout. Brighton showed Derby a lot of respect I thought. With regards Russell going off I thought he was having a great game ( including some of the best tracking back I've seen from him) but thought it might be a tactical switch to keep him fresh to batter them again in the second leg!

I thought russel came off as we needed to keep the ball and dawkins can do that well, and ward was protecting forsyth well, but then dawkins swapped flanks...shows what i know. We had a few poor to average performances...bucko,hendrick,bryson, we need to improve on sunday.Real end to end game tonight, we need to dominate next time.

Job done indeed. Grant stepped up when it mattered, and after weathering the early storm, a top performance in the second half. Keogh immense at the start with early tackles and that's what you need in these ties. Martin and Russell also performed.
Ward not great. Can't knock his enthusiasm but poor control tonight and he gets over excited / too impatient.

    Great result!

Great result, well happy with that.

2nd half performance was poor, we just sat back far too much and in fairness we got away with it. Credit to Brighton though for throwing everything at us and never giving up, we just struggled to get a grip on the ball in the second 45.

We know Brighton are going to come and go at us in the 2nd leg, they don't have a choice now. We need to make that home advantage count, keep our heads and not give them that much room to keep coming at us.

But well done to the boys (and especially Grant) for a fantastic result.

    Roll on Sunday!

I was a bit surprised that Hughes did not come on earlier and maybe rather than Sammon to get a bit more control over the midfield.
