then what would it be? First Saturday without a game for a while and although we play tomorrow, Saturdays without football just drag.
I'd be happy with any of these rules to be honest to sort out some of the 'problems' that have been encountered this season:
- Retrospective 3 match ban and a minimum of one weeks wages fine if you're found to have dived to try and win a penalty/free-kick.
- Fail to adhere to FFP rules, and you get either a points deduction or are banned from any Continental competition you have qualified for if applicable. You also must make up the difference in FFP allowances through player sales only.
- 0-0 draws results in no points for either team. Will encourage attacking football and prevent teams from just sitting back and trying to take the 0-0, for example Chelsea.
- Point bonus for number of goals scored. For example a bonus point if you score 4 goals in a game for example.
Some of these may be a bit extreme and I doubt any of those will ever happen but

defenders wrapping arms around players pulling shirts automatic booking and penalty.
That one would be way too hard to enforce. There would be a penalty every single time there was a corner and each game would end about 6-6 with 7 players each.Originally Posted by southernram22
One rule,
4 points for a win 2 for a score draw 1 for a no score draw, bonus point for scoring more than 3 goals (yes a 4-4) would earn 3 points each.

I like the retrospective enforcement rule but it would have to be very clear that it only counts when NO contact at all was made. I would also say that clubs should be able to appeal against yellow cards in the event of two yellows resulting in a sending off.
Agree with no surrounding the referee.
Only the captain should be allowed to talk to the referee about decisions,
anyone else should be booked at the first offence. It would soon stop them

Don't see why, if it was widely briefed about before the start of a season and enforced, players would soon keep their arms by their sides. Its only done now precisely because its hardly ever penalised.

Most of the time it's six of one and half a dozen of the other, strikers grab hold of defenders so if that happens, what would you do then? You can't give a penalty & a free-kick.
I would like to see an official timekeeper. When the ball goes out of play the clock stops.
That way it doesn't matter how long a goalkeeper takes to take a goal kick, or how long for a throw in, or how long to make a substitution... As there is no advantage. The refs are wired these days so the official time can be transmitted to him late in the game.
