Brighton never quite got off the bus

They were unlucky in the first leg but I expected more from them today as an attacking side but we stopped them as a threat. One close call near the end of the first half (well done Grant AGAIN) and a few long range efforts in the second half, then a goal when the tie was already over. Apart from that they never looked like scoring.

On Thursday they were very attack minded, today I sensed a lack of real belief from them.

Their fans were good today though. I loved their "we're going to win 5-4" song near the end. Saw quite a few at the end around the car park and they were very gracious and wished us luck in the final.

I'd be surprised if they weren't up there in the top 6 again next season.

Agreed, other than the goal and the Grant save, they posed no real threats and were extremely poor, we were all over them for 95% of the game.

If you said to someone who had no idea what happened in the first game that one of these sides are chasing a 2-1 defeat from the first leg, I'm sure 99 people of out 100 would have thought it was Derby.

Spoke to a couple on the way out of the ground and they were very gracious.
They couldn't believe the speed at which Derby attacked.

Saw on a Brighton forum that someone said if we attack like that next season (if we make the Prem) then we'd have no problems staying up.

Also saw another poster describe the speed in which we attacked as "quicker than **** off a stick"

It was an extremely good performance by us, in what could ahve been a game of nerves, McClaren clearly sent them out with intent and yes hats off to Grant who not for the first time has made some crucial saves.
