    D_D's Player Ratings vs. Brighton

I woke up with a warm feeling this morning, I think it's sinking in. I'm so proud of the players, turning it on like they did, when it mattered most, for all to see on the TV. It really was a special day, and whilst some will argue "it's all for nothing if we don't win the final", I'll never forget yesterday's game, nor that feeling when Will scored the most nonchalant goal you're likely to see. I hope they get over the line, they deserve it, but either way, Sunday was special. On to the ratings:

Grant 8- He didn't have a great deal to do. He didn't pull off anywhere near the amount of good saves he did in the first leg, but he earns an 8 for making such a ***** save from Ulloa when we were 1-0 up (3-1 agg.) That could have changed the entire game, but once again, Grant stood tall and made the save. This last third of the season, he's been a hero.

Wisdom 8- So solid throughout. That goes for both legs. He's looked casual at times this season, but when it mattered he upped his game an

    A great assessment as usual.
I would like to get your opinion on the squad based on: (a) Ability & (b) Desire.
As an example I rate Bucko as a 6.5 in ability & 9.5 in desire.

It's a decent idea I may look into it when the season ends. It could be quite relevant IF we reach the Premier League!

sounds stupid to me (no offence intended slimy). all we will get is the old preconceptions of players reputations. take bucko for instance, everyone remembers where he came from, rags to riches. people talk about his 'limited ability' but how many defenders in the league can spray 60 yard passes on the head of a 5p piece? jake can every time. having seen about 35 of our games this season, I don't see many limitations anymore. clearly he's worked hard at his game and improved it to the point of having very good ability at this level.

not sure how that became a jake buxton rant

Hughes 9 agreed but Thorne just pipped him for MOM in my opinion.

Never was a massive fan of Martin but thought he was outstanding on the day. Since the Chelsea game, I find it hard to fault him. Some of his touches are sublime.

Grant again, when it mattered over the 2 legs did excellent work.

If I had to be critical of anyone it would have been Ward. Again poor deliveries from set pieces and never really threatened them.

I have to disagree about Ward, I thought he was oustanding. Each time he had the ball he was explosive and direct and looked like the one most likely to make something happen before we found the breakthrough.

He was key in the build up to two of our goals and could've had two himself. I still don't rate him on setpieces but on Sunday Ward was one of our best players.

What's amazing is the way EVERY player contributes and our recent progress is truly a team effort with players being played in positions that suit them and able to contribute effectively.Agree with your 3 '9's but can't split them into MOTM.

In the play-off matches Wisdom has been excellent again and it was great to see the way he stood up to Lua Lua.

I wouldn't begrudge Thorne MOTM at all angry, but for Will to play the game he did, and score THAT goal, at such an important time, I had to give it the lad.

Nice to see you've come round with Martin too! I like a poster who isn't affriad to change their mind about a player, because some are seemingly blind through stubborness. Any guesses who?

Hungary- Ward is ***** to the team and I love his willingness and fearlessness. He'll play a big part in the final. I may have been slightly harsh, but I do t

haha. angry this is the first step to you coming round to the fact that Eustace is god.

on a similar note D_D, after giving grant a lot of stick in the first half this season, he's been consistently good down the stretch and outstanding in the play offs. well done to h
