Am I missing something here? Where does it say no tax was paid?

Big Jock would add a sweetener a?? a A?50 tax-free payment for not representing Scotland. So you got more by not playing for your country than you could for playing!

Aye the player didn't pay the tax but it doesn't say the club never paid the tax does it?

Sorry - forgot, they paid the tax on them along with the tax on the Directors' Turnstile money. :/ How silly of me

I assume you believe Rangers will lose the EBT tax case then?

In those days it was common practise for clubs to make what one might term under the counter payments to players and it was also common practise for directors to under declare revenues from the gate.

Ra septic 'Film Company Tax Dodge' seems to be currently under scrutiny from HMRC. These schemes seem very similar to the one's used by Garry Barlow, Gabby Logan, Colin Jackson, and others.

Looks like there could be a few squeeky dhim bums around.

Unlike the LEGAL Rangers EBT schemes (also used by septic), those 'film/music company' schemes are starting to look as if they'll attract Court cases and penalties.

One thing I've learned in the last couple of years is that this MB is awash with tax experts. It'll be interesting to see their spin on all these hospitals and troops being deprived of funding because of greedy footballers (and backroom staff).
