harry from the Howard Arms is going

Hats off to the man-he's sold up.Kept one of the best pints in carlisle.

A lot of very happy memories of the Howard arms-a well deserved retirement.

Careful Durham, he will start to accuse you of being Topdog or WKD, I am currently pretending to be your multi user on the Cambridge board, I think he likes it.

Are you Topdog Durham? For all your faults and the differences we have I wouldn't accuse you of that.

Getting back to the original post,i hope whoever takes over doesn't make too many changes.
Great pub(and there aren't too many decent pubs in Carlisle where you get a really good pint of real ale)

Thanks cd blue-too many numpties thats why no one ever comes on here anymore.

Harry's a top bloke, keeps the best pint in carlisle, but his cooking...he once covered the ******** as the usual cook was off-remember we had chicken curry once and he mistook 8 tsp for 8 tbspoons of curry powder.I was sweating like rolf harris in the dock when i ate it.

I wish him a happy retirement and like you hope not too many changes if any in the new gaffe.

seems to be a craze for craft beer at the moment but the fact is Theakstons beer in the Howard is the real deal always has been.

i have been led to believe that the new owner/manager is a local lad originally from Harraby.
My source suggests the new guy wont be making many changes
    winning formula and all that!
