The Daily Mail seem to think this will set pulses racing.

I fail to see why. Granted, his record at VA?lez Sarsfield is outstanding, but how competitive is that league?

He averaged about 1 in 5 at Lazio and only scored 2 in 22 whilst on loan at Inter.

Flairon If (big if) we sign him he would be the closest player we've had to tevez since he left. Works tirelessly has great skill and would score some crackers. Poor mans aguero. Can't help but think all this speculation coming out that were close to signing him is to fuel other clubs playing across Europe to come in and hijack the deal. Not getting to excited yet but would be a great signing. Can't think how he would work in Big Sam's system but heyho.

having thought about it again it wouldn't work, why?
because we rarely play 2 up front and if we did what would we do with Nolan who apparently plays in the hole, not to mention is our current Captain, so he stays.

From what I remember about him when he was on loan at Brum he was a skilful, nippy little sod. But he's very much an on the floor player.

If SA and the incoming attacking coach persevere with Carroll I can't see how Zarate is going to fit in.

Always assuming he comes of course. Which he probably won't. So I guess that solves the problem.

He obviously fancies a season on the bench and going to church praying for an Andy Carroll injury.
