There are hundreds of miles of caves underneath Nottingham but very few of them open to the public...

The most famous cave is in Nottingham Castle and its opening is just outside the main door of the castle, when i was a lad that was the way that you went into it if you wanted to explore the caves but its got a very steep slope when you went into it and there was numerous injuries over the years and now you have got go in via a posh entrance nearby...

The Olde Trip is a bit of a tourist attraction pub as its built into the rock that the castle stands on,its worth a visit if your vistiting Nottingham as the pub extends right into one of the caves...

Nottingham City Council are missiing a trick by not opening more caves up to the public if you ask me as the whole city is riddled with them spreading underground right across Nottingham...

I worked at a place called Daybrook Laundry as a lorry driver which is about six miles away from those in the picturs and that had caves with a underw

I never knew that was the case, you're right about missing a trick. I live near Stonehenge and plenty of people pay good money to look at some stones.

This country can make a tourist attraction out of anything.

There is around six hundred caves and connecting tunnels below Nottingham and they estimate that there could be hundreds more that we dont know about yet,the one that was found in the link was on Derby Road which is in the city centre and close to lots of other caves and tunnels, imagine how many are further afield...

Out of the hundreds of caves and tunnels that we know about i would say that about ten miles are open to the public and that entrance is hidden away in the Broadmarsh Shopping Centre, its a wasted opportunity if you ask me,we spent hundreds of thousands trying to promote a tacky Robin Hood centre when we have a natural marvel at our feet that could be used as a tourist attraction for at least decades...

Crikey, were you merely a rapist or did you kill any women?

Then, then you washed away the evidence in the laundry or took them 'to the caves' where them eels live.

I went caving with my mates near Schiehallion when I was young, the most frightening thing I have ever done. The entrance was just big enough to crawl through and involved a lot of crawling through freezing cold water, My mates had all the gear wetsuits and helmet torches, I just had jeans and jumper on under a plastic boilersuit, a builders safety helmet and an old bicycle lamp, half way up the cave you had to totally submerge yourself under the water and pull yourself along for a few feet holding your breath, unfortunately the cave was a dead-end and we had to come back the way we'd came, I was frozen and it took me about a dozen attempts to submerge myself in the water to pass back through the 'u-tube' every time I lowered myself down into the water the cold took my breath away, for a few minutes I thought i'd never make it back. Once I got through the u-tube I just scrambled for dear life to get out, I couldn't feel my fingers or toes, the boilersuit had ripped and my clothes belo
