    Loved Jake when he was with United.

    He would love to GIRUY the panel of hibees who sent him down a division for putting their team to the sword in the semi final .

    JASON SCOTLAND last night revealed relegating Hibs was all the sweeter given FIVE Easter Road heroes left his football career hanging in the balance almost a decade ago.

    The Trinidad and Tobago internationala€™s hopes of renewing a work permit after two seasons at Dundee United were scuppered when a six-man panel a€“ including Pat Stanton, Tony Higgins, Murdo MacLeod, Peter Cormack and Tommy McIntyre a€“ rejected his bid back in 2005.

    However, Scotland settled scores yesterday as the veteran Hamilton Accies striker sparked an astonishing comeback from a 2-0 first-leg play-off deficit with a 13th-minute finish before converting one of the spot-kicks that sealed promotion.

    The 35-year-old made the trip to Germany in 2006 as part of his countrya€™s World Cup squad but admitted events at Easter Road yesterday will always live long in his memory.

    If I remember correctly the decision was fk all to do with the normal criteria work permits caps for yer country ETC but just if the 5 man panel thought you were good enough it was a very strange decision at the time.

    It was a dodgy one, he made mostly substitute appearances but he was an effective sub and a huge favourite with united fans. After he scored the winner in the semi final they took revenge on him and relegated him to a lower league. Now he has got his revenge!
