Should we move to a 16 team league next season ?

I honestly think this is needed. No relegation from SPL and promote 4 from the championship. They can still do the split thing.
Then have one relegated and Second bottom of SPL play second top of championship in a Two legged play off.
Would offer more security for teams, and make it a better all round league.

Personally I would cut the top division to 10 and have no promotion.

I think that any changes to structures should have more than one season to cut in. That way nobody can say such and such a change was made to favour the elevation or continuation of a team at an elevated spot.

So if we move to a 16 team top league, and I can see both pros and cons, let it be the season after next.

I think any team starting with D and ending in E should have automatic rights to be in the SPL ;-)

No it wouldnt , not one league reconstruction in the last 50 years has altered the product one little bit. Heard the same old p1sh every time they changed the leagues, it would be fairer, it would take pressure of clubs to develop, it would generate interest because teams would play one another so often... all bollox and all failed. Einstein's description of abject stupidity was

"to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different outcome".
