Our relations with Dagenham and Redbridge, and Leyton Orient

Okay I know we're not good friends with Spurs, Millwall, Arsenal, Chelsea and what ever else, but what about Daggers and the O's.

From my knowledge the Daggers are a second team to people in Dagenham and some in Redbridge, there first is West Ham. I know our friendship with Leyton Orient is strained, but many of there supporters I read support bigger clubs first then the O's, for example I read of some O's supporters supporting Spurs and West Ham first before the O's.

But what is our relations with the Daggers and O's like?

There's a fair few Hammers that live that way Herbie but most Southend fans f.ucking hate us.

As experienced with a fair few pre-season encounters over the years :/

I have a soft spot for Dagenham and generally believe that our relationship between both clubs is very good.

Now that for obvious reasons is not the case with the O's.

dagenham boy born and bred, always will have a soft spot for them. Good amateur team when I was kid growing up but always west ham first.
Used to go to orient sometimes when no west ham game but since Hearn come along and stirred it up have no affinity with them anymore in fact was pleased when they lost play off game.

Back in the day I used to play for Barking in the old Isthmian League. Dagenham as they were then were in the Athenian League which was considered inferior, but were still our big rivals and was like a West Ham/Spurs thing on a much smaller scale.

Barking played at Vicarage Field in the town centre. It's probably a mosque or something now. They moved to Mayesbrook Park and they merged I believe, as did Dagenham obviously.

But it's funny how after 40 years, old animosities still linger and I can't bring myself to like Dagenham and Redbridge.

Southend are my other team in the area. I used to quite like Orient but not now.
