I think the tim link to "oirland" is more genuine than the "religious" link to the north of oirland by the hvn, though just my opinion.

When this happens,as it surely will, what do you think you will happen first; being labelled a bigot or getting carded?
Personally, Ive never had either in my career on here but the Oirish who post do get upset at my mocking of the Oirish and the mystical Oirland.
When someone from Coatbridge raves aboot "Oor Rhoy n that" and the closest he's ever been to Ireland is eating Tayto crisp pieces wae Clover butter then I'm going to struggle to contain myself.
Its a one way ticket to being labelled a bigot, just you watch![]()

Its not though is it?
I know tims who gush about Ireland when they dont have any ancestry from the place and theyve never been there.
Why do they feel the need to do that? As long as they do,I'm right there to rip the pysh. You know how it is Bob![]()

Mmmmm...I think there's plenty of family trees in the west of scotland that would surprisingly find it's way back to Protestant Ulster in 3 or 4 generations.
Thats the difference though neilo, you brought religion into your statement, backing up what i just said, my grandparents were irish, my dad being the first of the 7 boys to be born in Scotland, im proud of them, and yes i know that some celtic fans gibber about it to the point of will you shut the feck up, but i can honestly say that i do t remember any rangers fan on here talking about the north of ireland in anything but religious terminology, whether it be pro prod or anti catholic.

How can anyone be proud of a country that failed their ancestors ?
Just try asking yourself why they migrated here in the first place.
And before anyone points the "finger", my great-great grandfather did it, and I have absolutely no self-proclaimed (or otherwise) affiliation with the place.
Quite why some born here decide to wave the flag of another country is beyond me.

And Neilo, i,m not implying that at all, i'm saying that it seems the hvn link to the north of Ireland is all to do with religion
Ask me a coherent question and I'll do my utmost to answer if for you.
