    dont panic ... yet

Well Its shocking but not unexpected.
After such a Great season your players were going to be in demand but losing your talisman is an end to an A©ra.
Maybe Its also the end of the money.
She wants out possibly and getting as much for it as she can. Cant blame her neither. Shes not her father.
Im sure there will be another taker but imagine if you lot owned it?stop losing all that talent etal.
Youll just have to wait for that.
Until then youll have this again and again.

    re: dont panic ... yet

    I'm not panicking.

Of course I'd love everyone to stay but if Rickie, Adam and Luke all go I won't hold any ill feeling. Rickie has done brilliant for us and good luck if he wants to go. Adam could have gone when we were in L1 and Luke signed when many thought he would leave at 17 for a fraction of what we will get. I don't want them to go but ...! As for the rest of them, well that is a different story. Many of the next generation too might see their chance to break thorough being much better now at Saints than perhaps it may have been.

Not sure what the owner status is. I want it to stay as is but frankly I can't see why we wouldn't have a queue around the block if there was to be a change.

The Manager position is different. A new manager might be worried about both of the above but I think some of the players might do well to wait and see because if the right man comes in they may well be better off staying put. Unlike Poch who has capitalised on a great club and a great season b

Barcelona and Real Madrid being the obvious exceptions, I don't see too many resoundingly successful "fan owned" football clubs out there. So not something to aspire to imo.

Also, it never ceases to amaze me how many idiots are out there who claim clairvoyant powers. The latest being Mystic Meg !

We'll be fine no matter what.

The one thing that would definitely be worse than the current ownership is a fan-owned club. A group of fans, like those currently in charge at Portsmouth, although it's a nice sentimental idea, just doesn't have the financial clout to compete above lower league level. If Southampton or any other top team came in with an offer of 5 million for your entire team, you'd be very grateful. That's how little power you have.

Success in professional football is bought.

I spent Thursday night watching the Eagles in Concert, and renewed my season ticket yesterday morning.
I will support Saints regardless, it's the crest on the front not the on the back. We will survive and grow as a club, we may take a step back now for future progress.
Watch this space, let the Skates fill their socks while the media goes into meltdown frenzy. Liverpool are flexing their new found Champion League muscles, they need a percentage of home grown players, they are doing a Chelsea and City by trying to buy them.
