    Apathy

Anyone else feeling a bit indifferent about the coming season?

I can't remember being this disinterested towards an approaching season before, perhaps the World Cup and Rugby tour of New Zealand has taken a bit of my attention but I'm feeling quite underwhelmed about the next campaign.

I can't help but feel we need a big signing to galvanise interest again and it has to be somebody we've all heard of who has performed well in one of Europe's major leagues. I don't believe for a moment that season ticket sales are going as well as the club would have us believe and any positivity surrounding Sullivan's attempt at Churchilian rousing has already dissipated.

The talk of ***y football, attacking coaches, 6 new players with pace and skill plus a new head of recruitment looks more and more like an attempt to placate the fans with each passing day. I've got a nasty feeling that we'll be starting the season with Nolan tucked in behind Carroll supplied by Jarvis & Downing on the wings and

Yes and No. For me the world cup focuses attention and is a tournament that every four years, for one month, distracts me from domestic matters.

That said, the new away kit looks pretty damn good.

Stewart Downing made BBC3's Worst ever England team ever.

Harry Redknapp appeared on BBC's Back Chat and regurgitated the four old stories he always tells.

The ratio of wages to earnings in the Bundesliga is 51% verses 76% in the Premiership.

Real Madrid can cherry-pick any premiership player that they wish.

Italy are over rated and we should stop fearing them...unless Jack Wilshire is in the team.

The addition of Zarate and the reintegration of Morrison alone would make us a far more potent outfit and certainly better to watch.

Whether or not the brachiosaurus would pick them is a different matter but I strongly suspect that Sullivan would have something to say if Zarate wasn't picked, as this looks very much like his brainchild.

As for Morrison it depends on if they want to cash-in now. He has a year left on his contract and didn't feature for QPR at Wembley despite the plaudits he received from 'Arry. His stock isn't that high and we'd be lucky to get 7 million for him now.

So I'd keep him and play him. 7 million is peanuts in PL terms. If they lose him on a free afterwards so be it. Hopefully he'll have done his bit to secure another season in the top-flight and the gazillion shekels that go with it.

This though opens up the old can of worms as to who to leave out. Taylor obviously although he'd be a useful squad member, especially in away games, and of course our old fri

    Evening,

Can it get any worse ? I don't think so and the fact that Sam has had his card marked we may well have turned a corner, that alone to me gives me something to look forward to, not that I need a reason for wanting to see West Ham play.

irrespective of the football we play, the mood might be a little more positive if we had've survived relegation on the last day of the season. however, being 'relatively' safe with a few games to play, and still having to watch that style of game, there hasn't really been anything to excited about...

... australia making the quarter-finals of the world cup should cure those blues.
