re: Heart warming story from Normandy

Durham: Amazing - I can't find my car keys half the time any more and he has 25 years on me.

One thing that does irk me in all the hubbub and political photo ops of military remembrance days is the failure to recall the horrors on civilians in war.

Some have placed the French casualties as high or higher than as those of the combatants in Normandy.

The new study of Democide (all deaths caused directly by war (non combat related included) and for otherwise preventable causes - not war related) is fascinating and revels the true human cost of war and the abuse of power. (It does not include the terrible costs to the natural world). These studies have come up with stunning numbers.

New studies have placed the cost of WW2 in human lives far beyond 100,000,000.

We need to remember all of the victims of war.
