    Gary Gilmour

Ok so this has nothing to do with Football let alone Derby which makes me wonder why I am commenting but would like to think someone may have watched him play there. It is just in the late 70's/ early 80's it was nearly impossible in Australia to follow UK football let alone Derby so I watched some cricket and while two players by thes of Lillee and Thomson were destroying all opposition they were well supported by another two players by thes of Max Walker and Gary Gilmour. Unfortunately Gary has just passed away so just wanted to let anyone over there who may have seen him play know of the sad news.
Again is nothing to do with Derby but liked to watch him play just as in the early 70's when we could watch UK football on free to air TV.

I remember him at Headingly in the 1975 World Cup - 6 for not many and a crucial batting performance too. Not therefore amongst my favourite cricketers, although talented.

Must admit I wanted his death sentence to be put into effect after that... oh no that's a different Gilmore. Damned Adverts...
