New article - 12-man exodus, signings, relegation and change

    Hi fellas,

I haven't been on this board or the new one in a while, however I have a new article after taking a few months off.

I think you're entirely wrong to suggest that Kavanagh is under pressure, our relegation was exactly what the board wanted.

If he takes us down again next season they'll extend his contract.

If Kavanagh wasn't manager and we had someone in charge of the team who understood what he was doing then I might be a little confident about next season. For Tier Four we haven't got an awful base of a squad.

We have some potentially talented young players in the squad, Gillespie, Potts, Beck, Meppen-Walter - all could and should play at higher level. Symington depserately needs the club to provide him with decent coaching and therein lies the problem.

We're reliant on Kavanagh to recruit upwards of ten players good enough to win us promotion. We're reliant on Kavanagh to be able to get them playing as a team. We're reliant on Kavanagh to get the best out of the players still under contract at the club.

On all three points, what confidence can we have after the disasterous job Kavanagh did la

I accept what you are saying as we are all entitled to an opinion.

I have to disagree with Kav not being under pressure, he has to assemble a new style squad within a preseason, the majority of fans expect at least a decent campaign. So of course Kav is under pressure to ensure this.

Kav has to make the right signings and that doesnt just mean top class players, we need the right signings to work as a team.

Also Kav has the fans backs up after a dire end of season and again will be under pressure to win them over

Basically the board should not have given KAV a 2 year contract.A clause should have been added if relegated you are on your way sunshine.
Maybe we could have stayed up if his job had been on the line! What if we lose the first 4 matches - it will cost us to get rid.
I would have kept Lynch and Chantler.
Berrett and Thirwell would have been on there way.
I want us to do well but its more hope.
