Former Arsenal and Sevilla midfielder Alban Bunjaku has agreed to join Derby County, signing a two-year deal on a free transfer.
The 20-year-old midfielder, who will join his new team-mates for pre-season training when they report back at the end of June, will be eligible to feature for Lee Glovera€™s Under-21 side during the forthcoming 2014/15 campaign.
Head of Football Operations Chris Evans commented: a€œFollowing a successful trial with the Club, we are delighted to welcome Alban on board.
a€œHe fits the criteria for the type of player we want to bring in for the development group.
a€œAlban has had a good grounding across Europe, having developed at both Arsenal and Sevilla.
a€œHe will benefit immensely from working on the training ground in the coming months with Steve McClaren, with a view to nurturing his early potential.a€
Born in Romford, Bunjaku progressed through the Gunnersa€™ Academy having joined the club when he was eight-years-old.

hmmm how cynical of me![]()
Looks a clone of Nacer Barazite!![]()
Romford boy eh...bout a mile up the road from MMI himself
Reading a few blog etc, it looks like he left Arsenal under a bit of a cloud. Much speculation about why, ranging from attitude, his agent, parent's attitude, racism and a wish to play the 1st team football that he felt ready for!
Prob a lot of hot air.
Wonder if we view him as a long term replacement for someone? A first 18 challenger? Or just a punt worth taking to see if he kicks on?
I'm not so sure he's a long term replacement for anybody. He looks more of a 10 then anything else, obviously a position that doesn't feature in our line up.Originally Posted by Toggles
Though he seems a very technical footballer so if it turned out he where to be a replacement... well you can probably see where I'm going with this.
Hopefully he is not the overseas player speculated upon elsewhere amongst these threads. He is from Romford though, so could be.
Looks right for development squad but would need to crack on to make it to starting 18.
