If so Matt, are you still running Lloyds?
I'd like to know because I want to find out what the policy is regarding how Wetherspoon's managers order their real ales. The reason I ask is because while I was in Hereford I met some lads who are coming up in July to work on the Lakes Distillery at Bassenthwaite. They are welders who have recently specialised in doing distilleries and micro breweries, quite lucrative they told me. Anyway they decided to make their own micro brewery and produce their own beer. It seems to have taken off a bit down there (in fact it was going a storm in the Hereford Wetherspoon's pub).
I sorted the lads their accommodation up here, and they said they'd put a cask on in my local because of that. I've spoken to a few local pubs, only the ale pubs, and they all seem interested in taking some of this ale when the lads turn up. However I've not asked either of the Wetherspoons in Whitehaven or Workington yet because I don't really know who to ask. I thin

Am sure I seen something on that other site Moorlad, might be wrong but am sure he posted something about some of the Carlisle players trying to blag their way into the pub for free on that night Kavanagh had that altercation.
Probably best to ask on there.
Unfortunate really Pete, because it used to be so good. I think the problems with logging in and the fact it was off for so long 6 moths ago were the final straw for a lot of people. There had been a lot of stupid argumentative stuff on before that and long term regulars were a bit hacked off with that, so it wasn't going to take much to tip them over the edge.
Thanks Munch, may well do.
Moorlad don't post very often at all on either site just view now and again but more so on the other site because this one is rarely updated and even now is pissing me off with the ads etc as I try to type.
If they are supplying to Hereford spoons then they must be in with the company already on a local basis the way we are with the likes of Cumberland Breweries, and Whitehaven will be with Yates etc. To get it supplied directly to Cumbria they would need to make the national list which is distributed centrally and then delivered by Carlsberg. Getting on this list isn't easy!
If they were to supply direct themselves in the way you say then as a brewery they would have to contact the pubs directly via email and explain who they are and what they are offering. Not sure how they operate in west Cumbria these days are they more local based ales or a mixture of local and national?
What's the brewery called and I can have a look and see if they are on our supplier list.
Thanks for that Matt, the brewery is called the Wobbly Brewing company. The West Cumbrian pubs seem to have a decent mix between local and national ales. I'll get in touch with the owner and tell him to email direct to the pubs. Much appreciated mate, hope to see you during the season.
Right had a look today and this brewery is on our list of suppliers so it wouldn't be any issue with us taken it. Was with the area manager when I read your reply and spoke to him about it he says we would be able to put some in Workington, Whitehaven and both Carlisle pubs just need them to send emails to us our pub numbers are p4365,p470,p1795 and p4243 they should know what these means. Cheers
Thanks very much Matt, I'll get in touch.
Nice work Matt/Moorlad - if only everything in life was as easy to sort out.
Good stuff.
