'Well jet off to train in the sun

David Clarkson appears to be joining the trip to Portugal. Looks like we may have a replacement for Anier? - view external link

Never really rated Clarkson. Don't think bringing him back (if that's the plan) would be a good move.

I'm also far from convinced but there's little harm in taking him training and seeing how he does.

McCall has done well with a few ailing careers so far and our record with past players returning to do well has been pretty good.

You'd assume given his unconvincing time recently (and it possibly wouldn't be harsh to say for about eight years of the last decade!?) his wages won't be huge - in which case a six-month deal to January could be a decent deal for both parties.

oh fpuck no ... the truth is Clarkson had a golden season and a half before he left us but was utterly desperate for long periods before that and he hasn't got better.

i think more respect should be shown to clarkson. If the fitness is there, then i see potential similar in the way Sutton and Higdon were turned around by McCall into 20 goals a season players. The 10 squad number maybe making a return to Fir Park.

I was not showing him disrespect it's just that he left for championship went down to,1st division then 2nd division and just been relegated to non league but theirs no harm in giving him a trial I just hope we don't sign him for sentiment sake if he gets a contract it must be earned

The thing I liked about D C was his willingness to give everything he had, even when things were not going his way. The problem I can see is he is a few years older now and his energy and pace may be shaded...worth a trial though.

He's been injured since Jan but that's no reason not to sign. At 28 years of age he should be close to his prime.

He always worked his socks off for the club.

People have mentioned baron spells, over the years he scored !:4 games which isn't prolific but aint no worse than say higdon when he played for St.Mirren.

He's a player who always split the fans, I can remember when he was only 21 he got pelters from the fans.

We could do worse I reckon

Hope he's paying his own way - don't fit the need we have IMO ! Unless he's learned how to trap/control the baw in under 3 touches he should be nowhere near that plane !
