Trident is in UK's national interest

It is in the UK's national interest to keep the Trident nuclear weapons system, a group of former ministers, diplomats and generals have argued.

Maintaining a nuclear capability could help deter threats to the UK's security in future, their report concluded.

So, the guys who run and agreed on Trident before have decided a****st themselves that Trident is actually a really good thing?

Well, knock me down with a feather duster! Next they'll be saying that the Queen's a monarchist, Alex Salmond fancies independence and Ra Bares are in a bit of a pickle.

The English already pay for most of the trident costs!

Indy Scotland will keep Trident in Scotland as a bargaining chip when seeking concessions from Bank of England.

Yeah - you sort out our currency or else we might accidentally fire a Trident in your direction

What concessions exactly would an Independant Scotland require from the Bank of England? The Irish after they left the Union in the 1920s simply aligned their Irish Pound to the British Pound. They were tied together for decades without any need for any agreement from Threadneedle Street. I think there's non-EU countries have tied their currency to the Euro too.

Could they soon become Scottish nukes? Or would the RUK (rump United Kingdom) demand they be handed over in a

We don't want to have them on our soil in case of an accident or terrorist atttack, we want them to be far away in Scotland. But if Scotland's no longer part of the UK we'll find some other place far from Whitehall but within our boundaries to store them

    kind of way

youve got the other side of the economic coin to think about also in that keeping trident where they are, whether scotland becomes independent or not, is that it is preventing extraction of oil and gas on the west coast.

unionists from the west coast seem quite happy to live in poverty though if it keeps them as part of the uk.
