    Next steps on Squad

Assuming we sign GT what are the next steps on the squad.

    For me:

    Out
    Ward
    Sammon

    In
    Striker (perm)
    Wide player (loan)

I think Ward has been a reasonable player but I think he could be upgraded by bringing in a young Premiership winger.

Clearly Sammon is not good enough and I do think we are asking a lot for Martin to repeat 20 goals so will need to have a reliable back up.

I do think that Freeman could make it in our team but it might be difficult to keep him happy when other teams can guarantee him playing every week

I'd like to see a commanding CB come in, we have lots of CB's at the club, but no real leader/out standing talent.

I'm not convinced that Keogh is that good, and now we have 2 players that played side by side in a rubbish Coventry defence, I don't see the defensive frailties being sorted for next season.

completely agree with both of you...what more is there to say?!

I remember being laughed at back when Keogh joined and I suggested there must be a reason he was part of a Coventry defence that was relegated and conceded a shed load of goals...

I don't think he's a bad player at this level but we can improve like you said matt.

I'd keep Ward, for experience and options.

Sammon can go, and hopefully be replaced by someone capable of holding the ball up to provide competition for Martin.

Thorne will cost us a fair whack, so I doubt funds will be available for a top CB. Still, Keogh was very good the season before last, and he may return to that form.

I don't like your negativity towards Christie Matt. You're going on what bitter Coventry fans have told you. Others have said what a loss he is, and have said under Derby's guidance he could shine. He's young, very experienced for his age, pacey and loves to get forward. We should be excited about such transfers. Forsyth was a revelation last season, being labelled "the best left back in the division" at one point, and he couldn't defend for toffee when he arrived. Give the lad a chance and don't assume the worst.

No way would I get rid of ward, he's one of the only players we have with a bit of nastiness about him, every club needs somebody like him, especially in this division. Not the most consistent but on his day he's a pain in the ass for teams, his work rate is also top notch

It's not negativity towards the lad, I hope he works out, just saying what my Coventry mates have told me.
Not one of them is bitter about him going, in fact they've all wished him well, and they couldn't sing his praises enough about his attacking prowess, but they also pointed out he isn't that good defending, which in my eyes is a bit of a drawback for a defender.

Can't see how you could compare him to Forsyth, one has played at this level the other never has, and Forsyth was a converted winger so you could almost excuse him taking time to adapt to playing at RB.

Both had actually played at this level before we signed them. Christie played a number of games in the Coventry team that got relegated in the 2011/2012 team alongside Keogh...

'After Coventry's first league win of the 2011/12, a 2a€“0 home win against Derby, Christie made it into the Championship team of the week after putting in a man of the match performance.'

Will any one player solve them?

The style of play we currently subscribe to tends to allow the opposition chances in the hope of out scoring them. It was successful to a point and Derby were the highest scorers in the division. Christie fits that attacking style just as Wisdom did - we didn't exactly become miserly at the back with him there nor with Brayford. The risk in changing it is losing potency up front, like against Millwall at home.

We might be better with George Thorne shielding the back four though
