    BBC coverage

I wasn't at the game last night but tried to follow it on the BBC website - once again they showed that the adore Aberdeen and gave the Well game very little coverage.

Updates from Fir Park were often 20 mins apart and they were only ever factual - but the beeb were featuring updates and comments on Aberdeen every couple of minutes. They did not even mention that the Icelandic team hit the woodwork!!!

I wasn't that surprised but was disappointed that once again BBC were overly biased towards Aberdeen - I think they failed to recall that Motherwell finished second last year.

I listened to the online radio version of dportsound. In theory it was an 'open all mics' production but we hardly got a mention. Very frustrating.

I've given up listening to BBC sports programmes on radio. Coverage of the Well is very poor indeed and the quality of reporting and punditry is appalling. I don't see why it can't provide factual, informed and objective reporting. This is a public body after all and should be accountable.

They probably watched our previous European exploits and thought "fpuck that for a waste of Time"

The reality will be what team will pull in more listening or watching punters of the 3 teams playing on Thursday?? the only answer to that is Aberdeen. The BBC is a business any bias perceived I'm afraid is in our minds. Had the 3 teams been Motherwell ,

It is being accountable thats why it panders to the teams with a biggest audience share its plain economics.

stevie that would absolutely be the case if it were a commercial broadcaster like clyde or talk radio, but its not. Due to the unique way the BBC is funded, it is a public service. Therefore has a civic duty to cover all 3 matches equally. Not, give a running commentary of one match, and mention the other two on passing when there are goals in the other two.

Yes the BBC is entirely different to commercial broadcasters. The public sector cannot favour one faction/element/population over another. It is clearly failing in its duty.

Guys - wake up! We ain't ever going to get any credence from the Beeb. I remember being based at Queen Margaret Drive when we beat Utd in '91; junior hacks sent to suss out any 'bad stuff' on our team - fortunately nowt hit the papers !!
