Ok, conspiracy theory time and I'm probably talking a load of bollox but here it is anyway . . . . .
There has been a feeling amongst us for some time that Sam was un-sackable due to the fact that he'd created a squad in his own image thus making it impossible for anyone else to manage us. He had assembled a group of slow paced Uruk-hai and mountain trolls devoid of flair which meant it would be a waste of time offering the job to a Martinez/Laudrup type gaffa. Allardyce seemed to have safely cocooned himself inside the group of his former Newcastle & Bolton players whilst those he hadn't worked with before were signed to his agent Mark Curtis.
This season we have signed 5 players none of whom are affiliated to Curtis which is the first time we've done this under BFS's tenure. In fact we can only be certain that Kouyate was the managers choice out of the newbies and we can be fairly sure that Valencia and in particular Zarate were the owners choices. Big Sam seems to want to get r

I like your reasoning Bonzo. And one could infer, as you have, that Captain Pugwash is on a slippery slope and one he is unlikely to cling to.
That said, DS likes to project a boss image, but I wonder if the board are all aligned with his view.
My prediction is a managerial change by October.Manager is stubborn and the owner will be forced into a change or appear weak.
By the way: That's the best title to a football thread, I have seen on here.Award yourself![]()

Noted Whisky. However DS gave his interview to talkSport and they have it recorded. If Captain Pugwash blatantly ignores one of the owners public stated wishes, then the owners might feel compelled to get rid.Originally Posted by Whiskyman
I think DS is quite sensitive to "his" public perception. And for that reason I can only see one outcome.

Not really. Curbishley won constuctive dismissal. Lardman would do the same. It's always loaded in the manager's favour.
An interesting theory btw, and one not without merit. Great title but adding 'on 9/11' would enhance it.
No doubt you are right, but wasnt Curbs gripe, ( and a valid one, ) that players were being off loaded without his say so thus making his job unattainable? Sullivans bringing them in so giving him a much improved choice. It might pee Samantha off, but its hardly making his job harder.
But like you say the theory is a good one, Curtis gate, by bringing in he is losening the hold Samantha has.
