I hope to see Mackie used more in a forward role this season, maybe in the hole behind the strikers.

Pearce says it's on the list and money is there.
He's right when he says, we'll need 80+ goals for promotion and every good side has a 20+ goal a season striker.
Even if he doesn't buy one, the money could be used to sanction a decent loan signing. We are saving wages with the exits done and on going.
Sorry, I forgot. Do we still have a club for me to take an interest in this sort of story?
Felt I needed to ask before I started a pointless thread. - view external link

I meant a real striker. One who scores regularly.Originally Posted by Romanis

It's 1 goal in 11 for NFFC.

Sorry I didn't mean to say I didn't agree that we needed a striker. We've been needing 1 really good one for years.
But I hope that when we do, Mackie will still be employed to operate behind them, unless of course SP comes out with a different but winning formula for the attacking midfield.
Btw, do you think we'll see Halford in a forward role this season? Whatever it is, I do hope he's retained, we need a Mr Utility as he's it.

No not really. We have Veldwijk for that job now. Halford I believe will go soon. He's 30 remember, but ok for cover.
