Burnley manager Sean Dyche estimates he has made 500 phone calls this summer as he bids to assemble a squad capable of staying in the Premier League.
Dyche, 43, led Burnley to promotion from the Championship in May despite the Clarets having one of the smaller squads in the second tier.
He said: "We need more strength in depth but that doesn't just come with anyone. We keep looking and searching."
Burnley hope to add to their six summer signings before the end of the month.
They have recruited goalkeeper Matt Gilks, midfielders Steven Reid, Matt Taylor and Michael Kightly, and forwards Lukas Jutkiewicz and Marvin Sordell.
Burnley have also been linked with Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury.
Dyche added: "We work hard. I reckon I've made 500 phone calls over the summer to managers to agents to coaches, background on players etc. And that's just me, that's not counting my staff, the recruitment side of things.
"There's not a definitive number. I doubt we'll hit 25 senior player

Luke was a great prospect that was taken from us at a young age. He went to Everton and it never worked out. He ended up in the potential footballers graveyard at Motherwell and scored some amazing (really amazing) goals for them

Didn 't hear much of him when he was at Boro or the other clubs he played for but my gut is he will do well as he is an honest footballer and called do a Charlie Adam in the prem (I really hope this)

I spoke to Town hero Andy Roland last week and he remembered Lukas as being an outstanding young player and expected great things of him but said it was a shame Toffees couldn't bring him on

The Juke has looked very much the part since he joined us (yes I know they're only pre season friendlies).

Contrary to popular belief you don't get a cheque for 120 million straight away when you are promoted to the Premier League.

At the very very least we are in need of a centre half and a centre midfielder.

Some see it as a struggle being a Burnley fan, I see it as being blessed.
