Crewe fan Andy on Radio Stoke last night

Anyone hear this and know him? He was the first caller on after the match and basically laid into the team esp Oliver and Duggy, called them both garbage and not good enough for League 1, basically said the whole team needs massive changes soon in midfield, defence, and at least 2 Forwards, Davis though thinks this team is better than last season's! Most fans I hear don't think so, whatever the case this team looks like struggling IMO and I agree with caller Andy!

Thing is IF its true that SD has been told that his job is safe, no matter what the results then what should we expect?

Its been said for years that the midfield is key to any decent side and that's been lacking season after season and when one or two do come good like Murphy or Westwood, they are quickly sold on. I would think a decent academy would produce no end of good midfield players but its no good if they are midgets as many seem to be.

Oh, Andy had been to the match too so he saw it all first hand.

I went to the game yesterday and actually thought we did ok. Duggy was fine, Oliver found it difficult but kept going. The only player who was poor was Guthrie in my opinion.

I do think we are going to have a tough season, but definitely saw a few positives.

Waters was excellent and Turton was good, not sure we were quite worth a point, but we were certainly not awful.

Oh and Nolan and Turton are not midgets, neither is Ray, or Saunders actually!

Hard to imagine that anyone could criticise the Academy for FAILING to produce midfielders when there are times that it seems to produce anything else!!

I could go back through D Murphy, R Edwards, Johnson, Tierney, Lunt, Rix, Westwood, L Murphy, Powell and many others who I have either forgotten or can't be bothered to mention. Add in a few that we developed after buying them in or signing on a free (Lennon, Hignett, Platt, Thomas, Savage et al) and we seem to supply midfielders at all prices!!

Now if we could find a good stopper (other than Duggy not produced one of our own from the Academy as I recall) or a striker in the Hulse/Ashton/Maynard mould then I'd be happier still.

Mind you, for a low ranking League 1 club that's a record to be pretty proud of

And that's the point so many conveniently miss when we are losing!
No-one is saying the Crewe way is the ONLY way - but it is OUR way!

Mind you, I will admit that Andy is a regular contributor on that programme and often offers a very balanced, mature view. He obviously saw something on Saturday that disturbed him.
But I shall reserve that level of judgment until I see the team first hand AND after 10-15 games when the season is in full swing,

Can it really be true that only CAFC supporters are not in the know about Radio Stoke. Vale and Stoke City supporters are in on the joke about praise and
grumble after the weekend games on Radio Stoke.

It is always the same supporters from each team, and they are specially selected for their controversial and radical views.

Have to confess I never believed that any of our supporters would take their opinions seriously. But wow I am really impressed with Andy. After one match he is an expert on all of our team, and its dreadful weaknesses.

This man should be the next England manager.

Perhaps the fella was harsh to rip into the whole team. I was disappointed with Inman, Guthrie looked all at sea, whereas Oliver had no support. The problem is that I honestly think Fleetwood are an average side and we are going to have to step up several notches to survive in this league. I'm hoping SD is allowed to use the funds from Pogba sale to strengthen the side, although I heard it mentioned a few times on sat this isn't going to be the case...
