Tom is correct as usual and good to see him voice his opinon so eloquently.

This is our time. We need to rise above our petty differences see that.

Its taken a nation of millions to hold us back but now its just ourselves holding us back.

For a nation that keeps giving to the world ,why can't Scotland do it on its own.

Hopefully alex salmond can come up with a more clearer answer for the Scottish people on the currency debate.

You mean 'Scots are the thickest people in Europe'.

Scotland = the thickest people in Europe implies there might be an equally thick nation. It doesn't make much sense anyway. It's like saying 'the Irish is a green and fertile land'.

You're not Scottish by any chance Nottingham?

What qualifies Devine as the cleverest person in Scotland?

I would have thought Professor Higgs and many others might have a equally valid claim.

Just because you might agree with the commentator's opinion does not mean he is correct on this or any other matter he has chosen to comment on in the past as his opinion, like all our own opinions, is influenced by his own personal experience.

When you suggest that we need to rise above our petty differences what you mean is that you want the people who wish to remain in the Union to forgo their beliefs and/or traditions and support a Yes vote.

I would suggest that it would be commendable to propose the putting aside of petty differences if and when there is a victory for the Yes vote but as it stands at the present it is those petty differences that will determine, for a lot of voters, ho

I'd have thought Prof. Higgs would have a much better chance of being England's cleverest person given that he's English.
