Following on from the drubbing at the hands of Rochdale, there was one man who deserves a mention. He was Dale's emergency striker and hat-trick hero, Matt Done. Perhaps we were "Done Too Soon"... Neil Diamond (B side of I am...I said (1971).

I have decided to resurrect this thread as part 5, to coincide with the beginning of the new season. I have explained the purpose of the thread by repeating what I said at the head of the original thread (part 1) way back in August 2011.
[I]'I was absolutely amazed when the opening record that beamed across the tannoy as the players left the pitch on the stroke of half-time, was the one I had mentioned in an article yesterday concerning the imminent move of Shaun Miller to Watford.
The article in question was "There is something in the air".
Part of my post read:
"...and it's not that 1969 number one hit record by Thunderclap Numan. It is, I feel the imminent departure (so correctly foretold by Merlin Chalkdust) of the Merry Miller."
What are the odds of that happening? Or is there someone who supplies the entertainment at half-time having a little joke with us?
Just made me wonder as I sipped my half-time cuppa, moaning and groaning about the Alex's first half performance!

Like hissake, Andy Williams of Swindon Town must have been singing, "It's So Easy", following his goal against the Alex yesterday.
I was thinking about a Andy Williams hit,but was too disappointed to GoogleOriginally Posted by "alexmick"[/B

Following our worst start to a season since 1981-82, we are really "Rock Bottom" (Lynsey de Paul & Mike Moran) - Eurovision song.
"Things can only get better", surely? (D:Ream)... hit from 1994.
I think it may be time to play 'Panic' by the Smiths ! We need to 'Hang the DJ' and get some fresh ideas on board.
Judging by the number of the Alex faithful prepared to turn out tomorrow night (see the thread entitled: Not going against Rochdale, poor old Steve Davis could well be singing:
"All By Myself" by Eric Carmen (1975).
I heard on the radio today, that Steve Davis has been on the phone all day, trying to tie up a loan deal with the right player to join the Alex.
Steve really is the "Telephone Man" - Meri Wilson. Of course, I bet he was "Hanging on the Telephone" - Blondie, for the majority of the day without much success.
Thankfully today, Steve Davis combined the two big fellows up front to harass the Vale defence. It was fitting that Vadaine Oliver should get that ***** second goal against the Vale. In fact, Oliver's Army (Elvis Costello) were all grateful that our first points of the season were achieved against our closest rivals.
Another top 5 hit on the way...
The Alex have given an extended trial to Dutch striker, Denzel Slager.
According to the reports on the OS the striker scored a fantastic goal for the under 21 team. Let us hope that they are not talking "Double Dutch" (1983 single by Malcolm McLaren).
