    Simon Lappin?

When he was with us before, I seem to remember him as a good solid midfielder.
Should we not have gone in for him as St J have got him on free?
It's not as if our midfield is overflowing with talent.

St Johnstone will have banked close to a million quid from their SC win. They have secured nearly a million quid in a transfer .. in the short term St Johnstone will have money we don't. That's why they could probably sign him.

could you explain in further detail where a million pounds comes from the scottish cup win? Are you including the two rounds of the europa league in there ?

Of course we should and another player missed.
We gave away chance to retain Higinbotham .. we ignored Mark Reynolds.
Why do players ignore club when Top6 and Europa regulars .. something amiss .. Perhaps it's McCall they object (?)

I have buried my head in the sand when it comes to us and transfers. I accept what we have the now is it can't believe some of the signings made by other clubs which are at our level.

Paul Scholes said today he fears for Man Utd .The word fear doesn't come close to what I am thinking about Motherwell...

Yeah sure when we won the cup in 1991 Mr Chapman confirmed that we woulde have generated 1 million quid between the pooled semi final pots , the bonus payments for winning each round , the prize money and share of gate receipts from the final itself... so that was 23 years ago I think we can safely say the money hasn't gone down since them.

Where do you get the idea we ignored Mark Reynolds. The money he was on he was never gonna sign for us ahead of what Aberdeen could offer him. Nothing is amiss we have a **** poor support and consequently the money at our disposal is limited. Could it be spent better? yeah sure it could.. we could have done without p1ssing nearly a million quid over 3 years on the pitch and having needed it done 3 times in that period... staggers belief total waste of cash. Bob McHughs contract, Lawsons contract . the p1ss poor keepers contracts but the bottom line is you can't unspend wasted money.

They may be at our level but when the cash pot is empty you can't make a move when you've got fpuck all.

We didn't play Higginbotham because he wasn't good enough to get into our team at the time. And given he wouldn't have been a certain starter last season either, he'd have been an expensive reserve.

We could use him now sure but the right decision was made at the time.
