SMc has realised the squad needs more balance that is lost by the injury to Thorne. The eleven best players in the squad doesn't necessarily make the best team in the squad.
The team vs Fulham is as follows:
Grant
Christie, Keogh, Bucko, Forsyth
Eustace
Hendrick Bryson
Ward Russell
Martin
Bench: Roos, Dawkins, Naylor, Whitbread, Hughes, Best, Mascarell.
Fulham team:
Joronen, Hoogland, Bodurov, Burgess, Kavanagh, Roberts, Parker, Stafylidis, R Williams, Woodrow, McCormack.
Steve can't rate that Mascarrell much then?
And the penny drops,3 matches too late.
Or he's still getting acclimatised to English football. It'll be a big step for him playing most of his games in the Real Madrid B team in the Spanish second league, compared to an actual first team in the English second league.Originally Posted by RamsFan10
When he's ready he will play. Remember Thorne arrived in January and didn't play until March.
To be fair if we weren't losing he didn't really need to change it, although our performances weren't really convincing and a loss was inevitable.Originally Posted by triz

Exactly, you have to give players a run of games and see if they settle. McClaren does at least have the balls to change things early on in games.
Some crazy logic here, Hughes has never and will never be a DCM. Our system depends on that ***** specialist position and Hughes was wasted there. Moving Hughes to his more natural position or to the benc would have done zero harm and a lot of good. Good game for Hughes and the boys today no?

Exactly we've been awful all season except today, it doesn't take a tactical genius to see why
