    Whitby...

I went to Whitby yesterday and its not suprising that people think that Dracula was a real person, there was loads of references to him as i walked around and they are really milking the story, there was even a couple of Dracula tours that you could do and i was temped to go on one and see what crap they told you but as i had to wait an hour for the next tour i decided to leave it...

I did go on a tour of Whitby on Charlotte The Charabanc which cost a reasonable four quid for about half an hour, she was the oldest bus that regularly works everyday i was proudly told until i got off the bus and walked around the corner to see an even older looking bus that was steam driven, surely that has to be older than Charlotte?...

As i got some fish n chips from the chippy the bloke serving to me told me to watch out for the seagulls, this was music to my ears, yet more entertainment from the east coast gulls, but there was nothing.not one single gull came down to nick a chip...

    Whitby is a nice place

When in is sicily a few year back we were told by the tour guide who took us up mount Etna not to mention the mafia/ sopranos / the Godfather etc because the locals are ashamed of the past and won't be happy with us mentioning it.

Lo and behold EVERY gift/tat shop we went into was full of godfather memorabilia - tea towels, fridge magnets, key rings etc. ca$h in that's what I say.

**hello JJ. You probably been in the mafia have you? And met Dracula...**

Whitby is ace, though it can't be possible that EVERY chippy there is an 'award winning' one as claimed.

There was one chippy in Whitby that had a huge queue outside of it that had featured in some food program or other, plus there was a place called The Magpie that had a long queue waiting to go in as well...
