Thread: Tomorrow's starting 11 and subs

    Tomorrow's starting 11 and subs

I would hate to be in mclarens shoes picking the starting 11 and subs. My team would be:

    Grant
    Christie
    Keogh
    Whitbread
    Forsythe
    Eustace
    Hendrick
    Bryson
    Ibe
    Ward
    Martin

    Subs:

    Roos
    Shotton
    Buxton
    Hughes
    Mascerelli
    Best
    Dawkins

    Players who miss out:

    Russell
    Calero

Just shows the depth of our squad now

Hughes will start as will Russell. Ibe & Hendrick on the bench. I also think Buxton will start.
I can't remember Derby being in this position for a long time, as it used to be finding 11 & sometimes not filling the subs bench.

JR not in the squad?? you must be mad alm!

you're right about the strength of the squad though. pretty sure 23 other managers in the division would trade places with mac ;-)

So who would you drop from bench to put Russell in? Maybe replace Buxton because shotton can play more than one position?

Ibe wont go straight in. JR to start. I think Bucko will but Whitbread will have a good claim. Shotton was my MOTM Tuesday but Christie cant be dropped...

I'd start JR never mind make a place on the bench for him ;-) thought him and shotton were our best players v Charlton.

it is tough i'll admit. I'd either not bother with omar or dawks. we don't really need all 4 wing forwards in the squad but then again we don't really need omar and hughes both in either. that's my logic.

Don't think so, Stuart Pearce likes good defenders, and you have none!

I think the starting 11 is easy to predict, but the bench is tricky. We wont drop one of the wingers, as we saw last season McClaren likes to have two fresh wingers to call upon in the second half. Personally I think Whitbread will be dropped as we really don't need two centre backs on the bench.

    Grant

    Christie
    Keogh
    Buxton
    Forsyth

    Eustace
    Bryson
    Hughes

    Ward
    Martin
    Dawkins

    Subs:
    Roos
    Shotton
    Omar
    Ibe
    Russell
    Best
    Hendrick

Personally I would switch Shotton with Keogh, Ibe with Dawkins, and controversially I think Keogh would make an excellent holding midfielder, and I would play him instead of Eustace.
