    Everton To Sign Ryan Shawcross?

    Shawcross set for Everton medical.

Talksport radio are reporting that Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross will be at Finch Farm tomorrow for a medical ahead of a move to Everton.

The Stoke defender, known to many as “the one that Fellaini headbutted” or as the butt of the joke about curries “going through you quicker than a Ryan Shawcross tackle” has apparently been lined up by Roberto Martinez as replacement for the ageing Sylvain Distin or the currently out of form Phil Jagielka.

Having started his career at Manchester United, Shawcross moved to Stoke initially on loan in 2007 before making the move permanent a year later and has made almost 250 appearances for the Potters.

A no-nonsense battler, Shawcross appears to also be able to play a bit of football which has come to the fore under Mark Hughes, and at 26 still has time on his side.
