    Bucko Must Be Rested

Allow me to start by saying I think Jake is our best defender by a country mile.

we now sit (or stand) in the south stand behind the goal. in the 2nd half v Ipswich we were defending close to where we sit. I don't know if anyone else noticed but from about 60 minutes or so on bucko could hardly move. he didn't signal to the bench being the warrior that he is but his movement was severly limited. we defended deep in the second half which probably masked the problem. facing a counter attacking side with pace would have exposed his lack of movement.

we know he's been struggling with this cool 'hip flexor' injury and it's pretty clear to me that he's been rushed back before being ready and it's making the problem worse. before he came back last season he was injured for the best part of the entire previous season. I know it's a different injury but I fear that if we don't look after him it could become a long term issue.

we've got Whitbread waiting and to be fair he deserves his chanc

A good spot Rapid, I couldn't see as clearly as you as I'm North Stand.

If he's struggling that badly he should definitely be rested.

Jake won't put his hand up though because he knows he probably wouldn't get back in.

To be fair you'd have to be fairly strong midned to stand in front of Bucko and tell him he is not playing if he says he is fit enough to play!!

Seriously though, these injuries can heal while the player carries on playing but clearly thats not the case here and as I said on another thread I'd heard he would be rested until it had cleared up.
