My first ever car was a green a35. Went sweet as a nut and was very economical. Mate of mine in the Mob learnt to drive in her and he christened her Betsy. Often talk about those days when we meet for a breakfast in the Witterings.

I havent checked, but I understand that PAJERO is Spanish for ****er.

Have now googled it and it is indeed Spanish urban slang for "he who fiddles with himself for ***ual gratification"

I once bought a knacker for £50 and the brakes failed on the first tight corner on the way home.

I called her "A Fecking Bag of Shyte".

Slightly off @ a tangent but some of those cars manufactured under the ROOTS umbrella were bloody awful. Simca's were generally poor & sadly a bloke onboard the Leander in Devonport used to drive one home @ weekends. The thing was always breaking down, so I started using my car. It just couldn't be trusted to do a 140 mile journey in one piece.
Funnys, well my father once owned a version of a Hillman Imp, a Singer Chamois ffs. A truly embarrassing & embarrassing car to be seen in.
I remember being very relieved when he got a 2 litre Ford Cortina mk3. A car I didn't mind being seen in.

I had one of them cortinas two, very fast but lethal if you had to slam the brakes on as the rear end wanted to be the front end.
My favourite old car was a mini clubman estate I called 'Tardis' due to the surprising amount of people I could get into it.

I had an old Capri 1.6XL. Looked sh!te but a lovely car to drive, except when I was driving through Hemel industrial estate one day doing about 30 and the gear stick came out in my hand, quite alarming!
