I would never own a Dagenham Dustbin.

    Much prefer my Triumph Herald.

Passed my test in 1961 in a Mk2 Consul, it had a 3 speed column change.
Always remember the instructor asked me on my first lesson if I knew what happened when I pushed the clutch pedal down. I told him it disengaged the engine from the gearbox. Well done,he said. for all they know half of them could be pumping ice cream out of the rear seat.
Owned Cortinas MKs 1,2,3. an Escort MK3 and an old 105E Anglia for a short while before it died.

I've had lots of Fords. That Mk3 Cortina was a 2.0 GXL just one level down from the 2000E. Lovely drive but a terrible rust bucket.
    Since then I've had a 2.0S Capri, 2xMondeo's(great car) & 2 x Focus's(really great cars).
The Focus I have now is the 1.0 Turbo Ecoboost. Its a superb car. Knocks out 123bhp & I get 45mpg. 30 quid a year road tax. For us its absolutely perfect.
