Yes, one sure winner is democracy. This was a model referendum with superb turnout, The people of Scotland have spoken. The result was unambiguous, and there can be no doubt that the people of Scotland got what the majority wanted.
Unfortunately, it means me and other wealth creators like me, will be less interested in investing in Scotland.
I was prepared to adjust my creative focus, had Scotland wanted independence, and invest heavily me time, money, and expertise in making Scotland prosper. Talking to other ex-pat leaders of industry, I know there are many more like me who were prepared to do the same.
But, not to be.
The people of Scotland chose the path of seeming security. But the price they will all pay is high indeed. The hope and future of Scotland's children has been mortgaged to allay the fears of the majority today. Now, that's something not to be proud of.

Never met with Salmond, cpw. All my meetings were either business related, to do with personal business matters, or about some family concerns (those were the worst).Originally Posted by cpw_cpw
Anyway, had a car pick me up at SFO a short while ago. Currently sitting in traffic heading downtown SF. Will stop in at the office to sign some business papers that have been waiting for me, and then it's off home to relax for the weekend and digest the happenings of the last two days...
