    Riverside

Just met a muppet who said that Riverside has "great" atmosphere on matchdays. Can someone who was there to tell something about this place?

It could be a reference to the atmosphere caused by the smog and other airborne pollution in the rather unfortunate town of Middlesbrough

it's difficult to get a good atmosphere when the stadium's 2/3's empty on match days.

More red seats on show at the Riverside than faded pink seats at Florest...and that says something!

Its just the same as pridepark except not as aesthetically pleasing on the eye.

As for atmosphere most footballing going fan in the UK wouldnt know a true atmosphere if it smacked them in the face. We've been told that football in the country has the best ground, fans and atmosphere anywhere in the world. Its a lie most people are all too eager to swallow up and beleive.

Try getting out there and sampling different leagues and sports and you'll find quite how threadbare, poor and traditionless what many want to beleive is good.

By "Atmosphere" I think they mean how the darkness and fog creates a spooky "presence", almost like a seance ("Is there anybody there?".) It's all psychological really because invariably there is nobody there as evidenced by the rows and rows of empty seats. And apparently I heard Sam Rush say that NC was sacked because Pride Park was starting to resemble "...the Riverside" ie rows of empty seats. Anyhow, Patrick Bamford seems to like it there, then again he is a Florist fan so probably feels "at home" looking at empty seats.
