    Should SNP change its name?

The whole Nationalist tag seemed to alienate some voters.

Perhaps if they ran as the Scottish Independence Party (which after all is what they're looking for) they might garner more votes?

Gentlemen your opinions, as one bam on Clyde1 is wont to say

Doesn't that hark back to Culloden and while 45% of the vote is not to be sniffed at, it's still a minority which would be an unusual tag line for a Political Party with hopes of having a Majority. There's also a bit of snobbery (I think) from some quarters about having voted YES.
I've seen some folk say that they'll never forgive those who voted NO. Well we need some of the 55% to change their mind.

And it's easier to convince them by the power of persuasion rather than imagining that somehow they're less worthy by being part of the 55 rather than the original 45%

Reminds that 45% was a loss, no matter a sizeable vote.
Links to 1745 so harldy forward thinking.
Also alienates the 55% when we want to be inclusive.

Independence party implies they stand for one thing only, which they don't as they have done a pretty good job of running the country the past 7 years.

    SNP is fine.

Why should the SNP change its because one element of their policy failed to gain a majority vote. What do folk suggest we should call the Labour Party. Not single principal to its and not a tory turd they wouldnt polish to protect their narrow party elite. They are the biggest losers out of all this.

I think nationalism is ok , its not nationalism the word thats a problem its that nationalism when taken to an extreme is usually very right wing. A case in point being British Nationalism seen on Friday.

Scottish Nationalism is a collective of all political viewpoints as is the No side ofcourse

The Scottish Party. Simple and concise at the same time.
