Lee Clark has been loyal to this group of players but he needs to make some changes pronto because the same faults consistently appear - forwards who can't finish, and defenders especially on the left side of the four who are ineffective; a midfielder (Cotterill) who doesn't track effectively.

The 4-3-3 at Norwich was effective; either he should stick with it and/or give some of the reserves a go. Novak is a big miss for us.

However whatever his shortcomings Clark can't run on the field and finish off the chances. Bob Hatton used to say give me three chances I'll get you one - however Donaldson seems to need eight or nine. Can the Scottish boy shoot straight? We would be a lot better off if especially in first halves our forwards had done justice to the good approach play... and it was the same yet again against Fulham, and the goals conceded were as comically embarrassing as in1975... I hate losing to Fulham...
