has been doing the rounds for a while now, not sure how much truth is involved though!
the only reason could be the wages, still think he has a future with us as i said on another thread i'd rather Carroll and Zarate than Vaz and Cole.

One large striker.
Will need a lot of work but could be a bargain.
The Mail have reported that Sullivan wants rid in January to get him off the books. Newcastle may oblige but he'd have to take a big cut in his 85k pw wages.
I can see things coming to a head with fat-boy if this happens.

Carroll is the 'threat' on the bench or from an initial charge from the kick-off.
He is more than capable of playing on the ground as well..But if someone wants to buy him that's okay by me.
Already said my piece on Carroll in other threads, but i can understand the desire to get him off the books.
We pay him £85k a week to visit the doctor when he needs to be doing what he is really paid for. Personally think that if a player is injured for more than 4 weeks his wages should then be scaled down.
No agent would let a player sign that contract, Jon.
Cant see anyone willing to pay decent money for a carthorse thats always in the treatment bay. newcastles probably his only option but even pardew aint that stupid.Originally Posted by rednekst

Here if a worker is ill for a long period of time their wages drop about a third, same should happen to players, and they can afford it more.

Far too sensible an idea for football clubs to introduce mate. If all clubs introduced something along those lines it wouldn't be a problem.
But of course they won't so it'll never happen.
As for players "affording it"-----I'm sure they've heard of insurance. I think Ken Bates when he owned Chelsea said something about not paying Dennis Wise when he was suspended and, of course, all hell broke loose.
Funny how so many of the players we have signed over the last few years have all ended up being crocked badly sooner rather than later.
Ashton (retired), K.Dyer (near permanently on the bench when with us) are a couple that stick out in my memory.
Don't think "funny" is the word I'd use mate.Originally Posted by SuperIrons
At least with Ashton he put something back into the club in the short while he was with us. Dyer and Carroll just represent cash down the crapper.
