    Johnny Russell

How is he doing down there? I wish he was back with Dundee United.

good season last season but interrupted by several unfortunate injuries. our mouths were watering at the prospect of a full season.

unfortunately he's not really kicked on yet this season. our preferred two are ward and Ibe. he scored a good goal in the cup v reading when he came on.

he seems to be more effective against tired legs and so runs the risk of becoming a 'super sub'. missed a glaring chance away at Sheffield Wednesday which could have won us the game and missed another 2 sitters on Saturday at Bolton. he's definitely got some sharpening up to do but remains a good player.

he's our one player capable of really getting in behind defences with a cheeky ball over the top.

it says a lot that so many of you arabs keep coming on and asking about him.

It has to be said tho, he still hasn't started a game in central position under McClaren, and hasn't had the run of games needed to get decent match fitness and confidence - ***** for a goalscorer.

It pains me to say it, but I think due to us playing with only 1 central striker, having a derth of wingers, he may not ever kick on from where he is at the mo. If we go up you'd guess we'd bring in move 'proven' striker to be cover for Martin. i can see him leaving in Jan/Summer. Be very sad to lose him. Good player and excellent professional, just pos bad timing coming to us when he did. Def can cut it at this level

    Hope i'm proved wrong

He can produce a moment of magic out of nothing, that goal in the 5 nil drubbing of forest ws a belter. he has been unfortunate with injuries and of course martin suddenly found where the net was and frankly became impossible to leave out of the side.

he seems to have a good attitude and hopefully will stay injury free this season and make a teling contribution to our promotion campaign!

I was in Leeds on Monday and Tuesday. I was staying at the Village in Headingley. Needless, to say I got into a heated "discussion" with a Leeds fan about the 1970s lol
