I'd have thought you would have embraced and applauded this move, JJ, since it's intended to get the best deal and best rail service for the public and doesn't pander to Nationalist interests.

I'm an anti-capitalist, the trains should be run and owned by the people.
Nationalists should be ashamed Herr Salmond is giving a profit making opportunity to foreigners while a Scottish based company will now have to shed Scottish jobs.

But the deal included an agreement that no jobs would be lost for the entire term of the contract and that additional apprentice

A foreign company to profit (money out of Scotland)..
The First group will have to shed jobs.(Scottish jobs).
The foreigners can be given the boot halfway through contract if they aren't delivering. (The Scottish government may have to step in and run Scotrail if the foreigners are ripping us off, I remember the British government had to step in and run the Eastcoast line after another company gave it up because it wasn't profitable enough(may have been the First Group???).
