If you think this lot are going to get you through the season, AA, then you must be bonkers.
Against a very pedestrian Northampton - who played well to their own strengths I should add - we were too slow, too apprehensive, too unimaginative and too unco-operative. We didn't think well, act well or play well together. Lack of skills, lack of confidence, lack of any idea of how to be creative and move from defence into attack just epitomised the whole team from 'keeper to outside left(or whatever the modern equivalent is).
A team? Don't make me laugh. A bunch of self seeking misfits more like it. Get rid of the lot, Andy, and put a blank sheet of paper in front of yourself and draw up new plans for Pompey which the players can actually understand and fulfil in footballing terms. Because this lot can't; they haven't a clue.
Talk is cheap, and most of these Pompey players we see talk a good game, but are either not fit enough, not skilful enough or not willing enough to carry out a join

He's been warned about taking too many Viagra at lunchtime before.
Been a while since we've seen a drug addled afternoon rant from NSM, good to see the return.
Probably still living in 2007 - 2008 wanting the likes of Mendes
Don't really understand this comment.Originally Posted by ___Whatever___

We do however have the biggest support in Lg.2 so certainly the highest gate income. We also have the biggest(?)squad so supposedly the biggest choice. We also have some of the best fans.
What we do expect to be is one of the better teams in Lg.2 with committed players striving for promotion.
What we appear to have is a bunch of uncoordinated players with no apparent desire to fight for the club, and a manager unable to motivate the team or to have an idea of a consistent pattern of play to suit the players available.
I am not expecting to finish this season in the top half of the table. I also hope I'm hopelessly wrong.
The "It's only League Two players" statement doesn't wash with me, either. Simply because the opposition are also League Two standard.
Think NSM is being a bit harsh as we weren't too bad yesterday, especially in the first half when we actually looked like a decent team.
It was dross in the second half, though. As soon as Wallace went off we never looked threatening. The defence is likely to be marshalled by Ertl and whoever else gets to play alongside him given our lack of centre backs available. I'm just hoping Robinson is fit to start on Saturday.
If anyone who can play in defence and has a pair of boots please show up at 1.30 p.m on Saturday for the team talk.![]()
My comment regarding league two was based on when I see about players bad passing, crossing, creativity, etc... this wont be great in this division.
We also wont see consistency with players that we would like as if they had that they would probably be playing higher up the league.
Players commitment and drive to perform should be the same no matter what level.
We are only two points off the playoffs and six off promotion so hardly doing badly and a decent run puts us back in it. The reason this league is so close is because of the level and ability of the players to perform consistently.
I think there could be improvements to how Awford does things but I am sure he knows that too.
I personally think things will improve and we will hit some form in the near future. Where we are now is no disaster and if we are in the same position with a few games to go I will be happy... and we may be even higher.
Ok, Whatever, I take your point, but we won't achieve promotion if we only strive to play like Divn 2 players/team.
Secondly, when I was at Uni in Pompey back in the 60s we started our team by choosing defenders who could put in about half a dozen tackles in a game, a centre half who can head the ball, wingers who could put in half a dozen decent crosses in a game, half backs who could string together some half decent passes for most of the match, inside forwards who could run and put in the miles, and maybe pass, shoot and have a modicum of intelligence and a centre forward or two who knew where the B*eedin' onion bag was and wasn't afraid to use feet, head, body or other personal parts to get the ball into it. Our 'Keeper was the guy who turned up on the day wearing gloves and was over six foot tall.
Jokey? Yes, but that was amateur stuff when we played for the fun of it and the camaraderie of two teams of young people celebrating/commiserating in the pub afterwards. It wasn't our
How I yearn for the Tait, Kennedy and Aizlewood type of players who sadly don't come around very often![]()
