How has that Taffy who played for Wigan in the Grand Final escaped arrest? The first punch was retaliation, but the second was assault.

Surely the Police should be involved in that?

The bloke was lying unconscious on his back when the second punch was landed.

If it was a two footed lunge on a player who had already broken his leg then it would be similar.

Of course it was bad, and it would have been poetic justice if one of the opposition had stuck one on him, but to start calling for the police to get involved is cobblers

Rightly or wrongly a lengthy ban when it is dished out will put the matter to bed. Fair play to the remaining Wigan players they gave their all, but being one short was a bridge too far.

He has received a 6 month ban which will mean he misses 13 matches in total including a World Club Series game against Brisbane in Australia and 10 league games. Wigan have quite righty accepted it, there will be no appeal
